We finished Day 1 of the tournament and it was definitely a lesson for the players.  The weather was incredible with the temperature hitting 17 degrees Celsius.  Definitely shorts weather.  We played three Maryland based teams and those kids know the game.  More importantly they run hard and never stop, which was something we do not do on a regular basis.  We stress it at the program, but until you are pushed in game situations it does not sink in.  The kids realized it in a hurry today.  We got better as the day went on.  After losing 11-0 we then lost 7-2 and 8-3.  Our defensive play improved and we started to move a lot more on offense.  Our goaltending was strong, though we need more work on the clearing game.  That part of the game was very weak and led to many turnovers.  Overall the experience has been awesome and I hope that we can take the lessons and a good day tomorrow.  Nice weather tomorrow would also be a great bonus.

A couple of videos below including our visit to Laxworld where the kids loaded up on goodies.
