Rush vs Roughnecks this Weekend – Video

The Edmonton Rush are in a funk and a shakeup was made with Rory Glaves being traded to Rochester for Scott Evans.  Defense traded for offense.  You expected something like this with the Edmonton Rush offensive game in neutral.  To say the Rush need to win this weekend is the understatement of the NLL season.  Zero wins and three losses going into a head to head match with your provincial rival.  As I asked Jimmy Quinlan this week, “If you are not ready to play on Friday against Calgary would you ever be ready?”

I give Jimmy credit.  He is basically the only local player the Edmonton Rush have and when he comes into work at Vimy Ridge after a loss he handles the questions with dignity.   I know he is burning inside as people wonder why the team is not winning.  Then he has to face the students who also question the lack of winning.  He sucks it up and trudges forward to get ready for another game.  He gets his fitness in every week, does not take a day off and gets ready to play the next game.  It is not easy for the NLL players.  For Jimmy it is practice tonight, work day tomorrow and then games Friday at home and Saturday in Calgary.  I guess that’s why I like the sport.  It is a bunch of regular guys going out and playing hard.

Please take a look at Jimmy’s interview on the upcoming games against Calgary.
