Playing for Fun – Video

In today’s society there has been a lot of discussion on how so many of our activities our structured especially when children are involved.  There are lacrosse practices, hockey practices, piano lessons, and the list goes on.  Very little time is dedicated to letting kids just go outside and create their own game.  Add in the Xbox and the PS3 and what you get are kids that are programmed.  Gone are the three hours shinny games and the touch football games in the field.  I live across the street from a large sports field and I rarely see an impromptu game of any sport out there.  So it was great to see a bunch of Pee Wee lacrosse players start a random lacrosse game during our team barbecue yesterday.  Just fun, no pressure and lots of passing and catching.  I think you can only get better when you just go out and play the game.
