Totally outplayed is the story line from Game 5 against the Calgary Mounties.  After a great effort the day before we met up with a very hungry and motivated Mounties team and they showed why they won the province last year.  Their defense was relentless and their fast break put pressure on us all game.  Their leaders, Dan Taylor and Cam Gardner, were on their game and that did not bode well for us as we ended up on the wrong end of a 12 – 4 score.  I think we felt that winning the game on Saturday was good enough, but in this league someone is going to make you pay if you are not prepared to play.  I think as coaches we probably not prepared enough for the game.  From top to bottom, not good enough.

Even though the players competed, their focus was far from perfect.  Again our powerplay had opportunities, but our execution was lacking.  Our defense was one step behind and when you are chasing all game, only bad things can happen.  We will chalk this one up to a learning experience for our team.  We just don’t need too many more lessons like that one.
