Vimy Lacrosse Alums – Erik Turner, Dallas Smith, Evan Clark

The U16 Team Alberta Field Lacrosse team finished up their mini camp in Edmonton today.  The two day mini camp was an opportunity for the U16 team to play in three controlled games to help prepare them for the National Championships scheduled for the Labor Day weekend in Montreal.  An opposing team was put together comprised of several current and past Vimy Lacrosse student-athletes as well as a few lacrosse old timers.  The U16 team were out matched physically, but competed hard each game.  The first game was a bit out of reach, but the last two games were close losses, both by two goals.  I was really impressed with the improvement of the U16 team over the course of the two days.  It was great for Team Alberta to get three games in prior to the tournament.

Thanks to all the players that came out to help out the Team Alberta cause.  I wanted to recognize three student-athletes who are alumni of Vimy Lacrosse.  Erik Turner (Cornell – Junior), Dallas Smith (Binghampton – Sophomore) and Evan Clark (Wagner – Freshman) were able to come out and participate in the scrimmages.  All three attended Vimy Lacrosse and now are playing and studying at NCAA Division I schools.  I really appreciated them coming out and being great role models for the young Team Alberta players.  I also want to send a shout out to Lawrence Zdrill and Nathaniel Gillespie, the referees who came out and officiated the game.   It was great weekend of lacrosse.

  1. Jaime Clark says:

So nice to see these young men fulfilling their lax goals. Thanks Paul for your work with Evan.
